GIS Developers Wanted in Sault Ste. Marie

Infonaut and the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) are searching for GIS Developers to assist with a joint Research & Development project for the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate would have a degree in computer science with experience in software design, development and testing. In particular the developer should have experience with GIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server programming.
We are looking for ‘A-players’ who can quickly absorb a business problem and develop an appropriate system design and code. This is a long-term contract position and has the potential to evolve into a full-time position if there is mutual interest.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of many of the following software packages and technologies: Microsoft .NET, VB.Net, SQL server, MS Access.
- Web Services, SOA, XML, Java, JSP, AJAX.Net.
- Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux-based server technologies.
- Knowledge of any of the following software packages or technologies: ArcObjects, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, model builder, extensions, RFID;
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of geography and geomatics, geodatabases, working with data in various projections, structures and data formats;

About SSMIC:
The SSMIC is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1999, that operates as a catalyst for growth in the information technology (IT) and knowledge based sectors fostering economic development in the city and Algoma District. In the area of market development SSMIC offers Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consulting services based on the impressive expertise of its GIS team. In 2000, the SSMIC formed the Community Geomatics Centre (CGC) to assist the City of Sault Ste. Marie and the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) in the efficient retrieval, reproduction and analysis of spatially related municipal and utilities infrastructure.
